Although, MS Outlook 2007 is advanced email client utility and is better as compared to previous versions for storing outlook data such as email, notes, journal, tasks and any other data in .pst file format. However, still it is prone to get damaged or corrupted due to constant use. Sometimes the users may also encounter an error message displaying “ An error has occurred in the script on this page.” further, it may make the data stored in the outlook 2007 inaccessible.
One of the main reason for the script error might be improper use of page or the page has been modified in an incorrect manner. Any change in the data structure can be another valid reason behind this error. As a result the modified file extension is not supported by the Outlook, it probably causes running of the script error on the page.
In order to resolve this issue, Outlook users must change the PST file to its default (.pst)file extension. It can be easily changed by right clicking and selecting 'Rename' option. The extension should be selected as .pst and saved once again. After completing the mentioned steps, Outlook users can attempt to access the PST files. Alternatively, Scanpst.exe utility might be used to fix corruption in Outlook 2007 due to running of the script error on the page. If the script error still keeps running, then users are advised to use third party PST repair software to fix this error in Outlook 2007.
