‘Error when using Scanpst’ ?

Today, when I tried to open my Outlook.pst file I saw an error message displayed on the screen “C:\Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file”. I am not able to know the reason behind this error. After searching for a solution I came scanpst.exe is used to resolve such an error which indicates corruption in PST files. However, when I started using it the process continued for a while and is now giving the message “Outlook is attempting to repair your mailbox folders”. So, is there any other solution by using which I can get my files back? Please help me in finding out the solution of this problem.

If you are getting error as “C:\Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file” then it means your file is corrupted .Scanpst.exe does not has the ability to resolve this kind of error because it only repairs the corruption in file headers.
