How to fix outlook unknown error 0x800ccc0b?


From last three days I am receiving the same Outlook error. Since last three years I am using home email client Outlook before few days when I start sending/receiving emails it hangs up at 50% and then prompts the below error message:

“Task 'smtp server name - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800ccc0b): 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provide (ISP).”

I reset my ISP after getting the above error but no result is found. After having this error I am also getting problem while accessing some of the Outlook pst files. Can any have a solution for that? Please help me in resolving this unknown outlook error?
